Jan Lake (Sturgeon Weir) Evacuation Support

Evacuation date:  May 28 – June 12, 2025

If you were evacuated from Jan Lake due to wildfire, there is support available to you. Please see below to find out what support you are qualified for.

Emergency Financial Support

If you are a Jan Lake resident and were over the age of 18 on June 20, 2025, you will receie $500 in emergency financial assistance.

Update: In partnership with your community, the SPSA is directly providing these funds to eligible residents. If you have not yet received your funds, follow the next 2 steps:

  1. Fill out the Sask Evac Web Application

  2. Call the SK Wildfire Inquiry Line at 1-855-559-5502, (Monday – Friday from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.) to complete your registration.

Food Support

If you stayed at an SPSA hotel evacuation site or a Canadian Red Cross evacuation site, you do not qualify for food support. 

If you are a Jan Lake resident registered with the SPSA, and did not stay at an SPSA or Canadian Red Cross evacuation site you also qualify for $40 per day (for head of household) and $20 per day for family members (a maximum of $200 per day per family) in food support. 

These funds will be retroactive for each day you were evacuated (May 28 – June 12).
