Values At Risk
Register your Values At Risk
Every year in Saskatchewan, values such as cabins, docks and other assets are damaged or destroyed by wildfire. In wildfire suppression terminology, Values At Risk (VAR) are any feature on the land that could be damaged by fire.

Why should I register my Values At Risk?
If you own a cabin or other important values in the north or far north, the first step in protecting them is to inform the Saskatchewan Public Safety Agency (SPSA). This helps them plan and prioritize what to protect during a wildfire.
How can I register my Values At Risk?
To register your VAR, simply fill out the online form. If you have trouble filling out the form, call 1-800-667-9660 during regular business hours and an SPSA staff member can assist you.
DISCLAIMER: While the SPSA prioritizes protecting personal property, providing information regarding your value(s) does not guarantee that the SPSA can protect your value(s) from a wildfire or other type of disaster. Over the past five years, the SPSA has achieved a 97 per cent success rate in protecting the values it is aware of.
