Our Legal Responsibilities

As a single agency, the Saskatchewan Public Safety Agency (SPSA), according to the law, has responsibility and obligations to report annually on:

  • Progress made on the Agency’s operational plan in accordance with The Executive Administration Act. 
  • The activities of the Fire Commissioner and the extent of fire losses in the province. The Commissioner provides communities, fire departments and emergency service organizations with leadership; as well as information, education programs and services that protect people, property and the environment.
  • Its activities in relation to Sask911. The Sask911 system includes the province-wide radio communication network, utilized by emergency service providers, known as the Provincial Public Safety Telecommunications Network (PPSTN).
