Sucker River Evacuation Support

Evacuation date:  June 2 – June 12, 2025

If you were evacuated from Sucker River due to wildfire, there is support available to you. Please see below to find out what support you are qualified for. 

Emergency Financial Support

If you are a Sucker River resident and were over the age of 18 on June 20, 2025, you will receive $500 in emergency financial assistance. These funds are to be distributed by the Lac La Ronge Indian Band. Please contact Lac La Ronge Indian Band for information on how to receive these funds.  

Food Support

Sucker River is supported by the Canadian Red Cross. The Canadian Red Cross is operating reception centres in Saskatoon and Prince Albert. Peter Ballantyne Cree Nation and Lac La Ronge Indian Band community members who are still evacuated can reach the Canadian Red Cross by calling 1-800-863-6582, between 8 a.m. and 10 p.m. daily, or by visiting  www.redcross.ca/2025SaskatchewanWildfires for more information.

If you are a member of the Lac La Ronge Indian Band, additional community supports may be available. Reach out to your community leadership for more information.
